Symmetric Server

Balu Doraisamy"Staying ahead in business means you need every advantage you can get to increase your computing power and conserve your scarce IT resources," says Balu Doraisamy, the new managing director for Compaq Computer India Pvt Ltd. The priority for him is to redefine the server marketplace with the new Compaq ProLiant 8000 and 8500 servers. Infotech systems are being put under constant pressure, says Doraiswamy, by new applications and demands on performance. "But the new Profusion 8-Way Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) architecture, on which these new servers are based, will power the customer's most demanding applications like electronic commerce, decision support, ERP, messaging and collaboration."
