MICROSOFT PUBLISHER 2002 A Step Forward, Two Back Though great for regular publishing, it is worthless for creating sites.
Composer only lets you create one Web page at a time, which is very tedious if your Web site contains 40-150 pages. Publisher 2000 let one create and edit large Web sites, jump easily while creating from page to page, edit pages and transpose images from one to another. In 2002, if you create 20 pages in one document as a site, you can only name the first page with a professional business name of index.html. The rest of the pages are named starting with 01.html and so on numerically. This is totally unacceptable for a Web business site as this tags it as an amateur creation. So Microsoft is telling you to create just one page at a time and link them together. For regular, non-Web-related publishing, Publisher 2002 is good. You can also design catalogues or greeting cards with Microsoft Publisher. It fits in seamlessly with Office XP; Word users will approve of the Import wizard, as you can load documents directly into Publisher and apply new fonts, styles, and colour schemes. PAPERPORT DELUXE 8.0
What makes PaperPort unique is its low price and the convenient, easy-to-use filing system. Just scan your paper documents into PaperPort, then toss the paper (not legal documents, of course), and touch up, or write notes on, fill in forms, fax, e-mail, print, or do OCR into your word processor, crop and beautify your photos, etc. PaperPort's thumbnails allow users to visually organise, retrieve, use, and easily share scanned documents and other electronic documents like Word, Excel, and PDF files. Plus, PaperPort's editing tools ensure that scanned documents will look right while PaperPort's annotation tools let users add notes and highlights on top of any scanned image. In fact, the software makes your scanner an essential tool in managing your paper-filled life. |
