They Do...
Amit Lohia and Aarti Modi with Amit's sisterLast year he shook a leg-on-hire at steel magnate L.N. Mittal's son's wedding. Last week he did it again for Mittal's nephew Amit Lohia. At a Bollywood Nite for Amit (son of Indo-Rama Synthetics' S.P. Lohia) and bride Aarti Modi, Shah Rukh Khan dazzled the Delhi crowd with Karisma Kapoor, Mahima Chaudhary, Suman Ranganathan, Gulshan Grover and others. The stars pocketed several lakhs for their efforts, as part of the multi-crore, eight-functions-across-three-5-star-hotels-&-a-couple-of-farmhouses affair. Got a problem?

Laila Rouass...She Will Too
She's smart, she's gorgeous, and she won't be single for long. sigh! Channel V veejay Laila Rouass is tying the knot later this year with her buddy and boyfriend, Morocco's World Cup soccer player Hadji. "I'm thrilled at the thought of marrying the man I love," coos the half-Moroccan half-Goan lass, who's right now vacationing in Australia with lover boy. Between holidays, marriage and The Juice -- a soul and funk show that she co-produces and hosts for V -- she's also trying to set up a Goan restaurant in Casablanca. Where business interests go, will the businesswoman follow?

Manpreet Brar

It's War
There's a battle brewing over this contest. About two months after former Miss India Manpreet Brar stopped anchoring Siyaram's Star Miss India, the show's promos are still using her name. "I sent a legal notice to Star Plus and the producers but they disregarded even that," fumes the lady, who may even sue. No comments from the channel spokesperson beyond, "We're looking into the matter." So is Brar.

Hurray! A Holiday
Jitendra, Kailash, Naresh, Kavita, Reena, Yogesh and Sunny -- winners of a painting contest organised by Child Relief and YouYesterday, life was an endless drag in a Mumbai slum. Today, it includes a two-day trip to Singapore. Jitendra, Kailash, Naresh, Kavita, Reena, Yogesh and Sunny -- winners of a painting contest organised by Child Relief and You (CRY) and Qantas airways -- will not only get a guided tour of the city, they'll also meet kids from there. Says Manjul Bharadwaj of CRY: "The idea was to expose them to different environments and people." Great idea.
