ART
The Probing Eye- Exhibition of Photographs
(Surrendra Paul Art Gallery: Delhi; October 25 - Nov 15 )

Nineteen eminent painters and sculptors add another dimension to their artistic skills. The inaugural show at the new gallery in the capital's multi-arts complex, Sangeet Shyamala, showcases for the first time photographs taken by notables like Anjolie Ela Menon, Rameshwar Broota and Latika Katt.

The Search Within
(National Gallery of Modern Art, Delhi; Oct 23-Nov 20)

An Indo-austrian project on contemporary art which started in Austria early this year now comes to India. An exhibition and related workshops features 20 artists from both countries -- Anjum Singh, Arpana Caur and Meenakshi Bharati are among the Indian artists. This inter-cultural event travels to Mumbai in November.

MUSIC
Satya-- The Sound

(Venus; Rs 40)

Riding on the success of his latest film on Mumbai's notorious underworld, Satya, director Ram Gopal Varma has released the film's soundtrack -- not the songs just the music. As you listen to the pulsating drumbeats and the sound of the bass guitar, it is easy to picture various scenes from the film in your mind -- the death of a father, friends having fun together. Very effective.
