IMAGES: DISASTERS Year of Chaos Charred bodies. Mangled steel. Stricken families. Images disturbingly becoming a part of our daily life. There were more fires, accidents, building collapses, caste and communal killings and train wrecks during the year than ever before. The reactions were routine: inquiry committees, official suspensions and political expressions of grief. Beyond that, no one cared -- except the relatives of those who perished.
