chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Corruption charges, Ambedkar theme parks, bureaucratic
transfers as a cottage industry, a relentless pandering to Dalit lobbies: there were all
these and more. It was all true. But good administration was never Mayawati's forte. Her
politics was rich in symbolism. The wretched of the earth had found a voice, albeit a
rather shrill one. |
