ART Photo Exhibition by Benoy K. Bahl (India Habitat Centre, Delhi; Nov 27-Dec 5) The 1,000-year-old artistic heritage of Ladakh is in danger of being lost. Photographs by Benoy K. Behl highlight the timeless beauty of Buddhist mural paintings in monasteries there as well as the ravages of time on them. Exhibition of Paintings by Roy Thomas Stark. surreal. sombre. Roy Thomas' works reflect the isolation of the individual in a world constantly under threat of disintegration. Dark colours intensify this sense of foreboding. THEATRE A musical nautanki inspired by Bihar's Bidesia and other folk forms, Daaku depicts the plight of society. FOOD It had to happen. tired of jokes, the Punjabi foodie would strike back one day. Punjabi by Nature does, emphatically so. Here you don't have to be defensive about eating tandoori chicken, dal makhni and palak paneer. The place is quaintly elegant, the food nouveau (cooked in olive oil, not desi ghee). Rs 500 and up for two. ODD ENDS Bustling Bhopal has a getaway, finally. The Palm Grove Club has everything that a country club should offer. The plus point is its excellent food.
