ART
Artquest for Cry;

(Y B Chavan Art Gallery, Mumbai June 2-8)

Here's a chance to view a wide range of works, from fairly well-known names to talented youngsters, from Naina Kanodia to J.S. Munolli whose Portrait of an African is shown here. Part of the proceeds will go to cry (Child Relief and You), the NGO that works for underprivileged children. With paintings by 90 artists on display, there's plenty to choose from.

MUSIC
Jai Hind

(Zee Music; Rs 35)

You could be excused for wondering if Padosan pakdi gayee is a patriotic parody on a Pakistani lass. After all, this is the soundtrack for a movie directed by Mr India Manoj Kumar. But surprisingly, the songs are all about love, romance and some naughty fun. Padosan ... is catchy, the rest are just about okay.

ODD ENDS
Kerela: The Green Symphony
(CD-Rom; Invis Multimedia, Pandits Colony, Thiruvanathapuram; Rs 950)

The first comprehensive interactive CD-Rom on Kerala. Divided into five parts -- Land and People, History, Heritage, Places of Interest and Infrastructure -- it contains 600 colour transparencies, 500 frames of text and more than 100 video and audio clips packed into eight hours of information and fun.
