BUDGET '98
Made In India
Continued...INDIA TODAY-ORG-MARG POLL
The Budget is Going to Hurt
India Today commissioned ORG-MARG to conduct an
opinion poll after the budget was announced. Interviews were conducted two days later on
June 3, with 1,576 respondents in the 18-plus age group and below Rs 2,500/month to Rs
10,000-plus/month income groups. Interviews for the street corner poll were simultaneously
conducted in 12 cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad,
Lucknow, Jaipur, Patna, Nagpur and Cuttack). The upshot: Sinha had better rethink things.
There's an indifference about the budget, deep worry about price rise and lack of faith in
stock markets.
