It's
their War Too
Delhi
Kargil has left few people unmoved. G.B. Road, the city's
red-light area, was in the news following a week-long drive by some 1,500 sex workers to
raise money for the war effort. Between them they managed to string together nearly Rs
15,000. The money, says Khairati Lal Bhola, president of the Bharatiya Patita Udhdhar
Sabha, will be handed over to the prime minister. "It is a small gesture," adds
Neemi Bai. "Our heart goes out to the widows and children of the martyrs."
