Living in the Past: The revolution is not dead, it has only been
overtaken by events. But not so for veteran communists Jyoti Basu and
H S Surjeet who refuse to change their worldview. The simmering
differences between them and the younger members of the politburo were
evident at the CPI(M)'s 16th Congress Calcutta.
