 Net Worth Back in 1994, Maryland lawyer Sheela Murthy
was still struggling to get her fledgling immigration practice off the ground. When her
husband, a computer graphics expert, offered to design a website promoting her business,
Murthy told him to go ahead. Five years later, her homepage www.murthy.com is one of the
hottest legal sites on the World Wide Web, scoring more than a million hits a week. It has
also brought in loads of clients for her firm and gross revenues have grown 50-fold over
an already significant income. But the 38-year-old from Bangalore, a graduate of the
Harvard Law School, remains level-headed. "When something goes wrong now," she
says, "I tell myself, 'Count your blessings. You have food in your stomach and a roof
over your head'." The rest, she says, is a bonus. |
