Haute Line It's the haute haunt of Bangalore's designer crowd. But
when Ffolio -- the city's best-known fashion store -- held a show last week, there was
more to talk about than usual. Thrown in with the new collections of Rajesh Pratap Singh
and Payal Jain, Onkara of Upasana Gulati and the launch of Challis silk dupattas and
scarves, was the debut of a western line by Ffore, Ffolio's in-house design cell. The
location, as usual, was the store itself. And while the models catwalked in and out of the
changing room, showing off the western and fusion outfits -- non-fussy, simple cuts -- by
the other designers, the vote for the day went to Ffore's garments in grey and ivory.
Price range: Rs 600-2,000. "The purpose of the in-house cell is to create affordable,
well-made garments," says Sanjay Shroff of Ffolio. "We're looking at filling all
types of price points." Good point. --Rehmat Merchant |
