Go Delhi: Thai Food
Before this review goes further, it
would like to make a point. Ignore Thai food reviews that say the food at a new eatery
tastes as if from "an authentic mid-level Thai restaurant in downtown Bangkok".
The writer is probably gloating over the freebie; and it doesn't tell you that the
difference between mid-level and upper-level is usually in the air-conditioning, hygiene
and choice of seafood -- not so much taste. To Lemon Grass, the newest
Thai restaurant in Delhi. The decor isn't overtly Thai -- but the food and service most
certainly are. It helps that it's run by Thais, and the chef is Thai. It also helps that
the mince chicken stir fried with basil and spring onion makes the eyes stream, and the
delectable tofu and bean sprouts cleans the palate for more. This small, unassuming, neat
restaurant in South Extension is in the "smack" category. Wish list: tenderloin,

Night Golf
When the market is tight and the price is high, it makes sense
to have a USP. DLF Golf & Country Club on the outskirts of Delhi has
one. It's the only course in India to offer night golf. The 200 acre blanket of green lit
by about 1,200 metal halide lamps has been set up at an estimated cost of Rs 70-80 crore.
The novelty comes at a price. Membership to this 18-hole Arnold Palmer signature course
costs individuals Rs 5 lakh for five years and Rs 8 lakh for 10 years (refundable at the
end of the term) while corporates must shell out Rs 7.5-16 lakh with refundable and
non-refundable options. After the first phase of the launch, the club plans to expand its
facilities to include a business hotel, condominiums and a health club. For details call
