YOUTH POLL
Which is the best party to run the country?
BJP 47
Congress 32

Rest: Can't say/don't know                                              All figures in per cent

Supplementary questions on which party would ensure less corruption, had more able leaders, was better for national security and had greater mass support led to near identical answers. It was only on the matter of which party would work for the betterment of women that the Congress and the BJP ran neck and neck at 34 and 35 per cent, obviously a consequence of Sonia Gandhi's leadership of the older party. Faith in the BJP was higher among men as against women (55 per cent vs 39 per cent) and in urban areas as opposed to rural ones (56 per cent vs 44 per cent).
