Photojournalist Saibal Das' exhibition on Circus
Women of India at the lobby of India Habitat Centre's Convention Centre (November
9-11) chronicles the lives of these female performers with some stark and stunning black
and white portraits. Their stunts within the ring, the loneliness outside, the
cheerfulness despite the hardship, he has managed to capture it all with his camera during
his travels through several states in the country. Das chose the subject for a fellowship

Cultural Festival
The 7th Qutab Festival kicks off with an Odissi
performance by Sonal Mansingh and a santoor recital by Bhajan Sopori. Others in the
programme include Kuchipudi duo Jairama and Vanshree Rao, and Ram Narayan and Aruna
Narayan Kale on the sarangi. The added attraction this year is the local cuisine of Delhi,
