Yukta MookheyTube Vision
Guess who wants to be the next television personality? Miss World Yukta Mookhey, of course. When she is done with the photo-ops after the title triumph, she plans to take up a career. And top on her list is the electronic media -- either a TV presenter or an anchor's job. But all this will happen only if she doesn't get into films first, like the other Indian beauty queens before her. There's a hitch though: which Bollywood male can stand up to her? At 5 ft 11 in she's no side-show. Any takers?

Wordly Wise
Raj RishiThis is Bangalore's own little Rain Man. Raj Rishi, 11, is no ordinary child. The autistic boy communicates only through writing, sometimes brilliantly penning instant poetry on subjects from Miss World to cricket. Following a bbc documentary shoot on the prodigy, titled Inside Story and to be aired in February, Rishi was off to London on December 11 for an assessment of his literary mind and to realise his dream of meeting English professors at Cambridge University. It's not for nothing that he's fondly called Tito. Like the Yugoslav marshal, he too could be destiny's child.

Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Sobhana Bharatiya75-Gun Salute
The Hindustan Times is, like all good newspapers, a lot more than a paper full of news. It's the heartthrob of north India -- also offering info on brides and tenders. On HT's 75th birthday last week, Prime Minister A.B.Vajpayee led the celebrations. "I sometimes don't agree with your editorial policy, but the HT has been a habit with me for over 50 years," he said. For HT's editorial director, the elegant Sobhana Bharatiya, it was "the ultimate tribute ... as no politician ever agrees with the editorial policy of a newspaper". Platinum praise that.

Rajiv RaiCut to Romance
Who says Rajiv Rai has been ducking? While he has been away from Mumbai -- fearing what else, but the underworld -- for the past two years, he's actually been rethinking his line. Goodbye to action-thrillers. Love has caught the imagination of this producer-director. Pyar, Ishq Aur Mohabbat, that's what Rai is calling his new venture. Has he fallen head over heels? "I may have thought up the title when I was drunk," he chuckles. Hic! The star cast includes Bobby Deol and Sunil Shetty -- the heroines are still being picked -- and the shooting will start from mid-June in Switzerland and Scotland. Does this mean he's back in love with Mumbai? "I'm going to shuttle between the city and wherever work takes me," he says. Rai doesn't dig action-thrillers any more, you see.
