Lap top style Heard
of laptop dancing, but laptop models? Well, anything could happen in
cyberspace. Models sashayed around the swimming pool at The Oberoi Hotel,
Bangalore, last week. But they weren't just showing off what was on their
backs: there were also sleek, slimline IBM Thinkpad series laptops. Former
beauty queens Nafisa Joseph and Vithika Aggarwal and other models wore
upcoming designer Deepika Govind's Ensemble 2000. Her choice of colours
reflected the seven colours that the Techni-award-winning Notebooks
feature: black, white, toffee browns, wine and red dominated what the
designer describes as a "technological vision for the new
millennium". Logged on that night too was IBM corporate
communications head K.S. Narahari: "Our new series is a concept in
computing. It is as much a fashion accessory as a computer." Well,
still not beauty and brains in an integrated circuit.
