3 Men and a car

How's this for millennium fun? Nights in a weatherbeaten Tata Sumo during a non-stop 144-hour drive? Three hot-rodders from Maharashtra ushered in the New Year with a 3,451 km drive from Calcutta (flagged off at midnight on December 31), to end, six states later, at Koteswar in Gujarat. Bittu Upadhyaya, Hemant Kaklotar and Hariom Gurjar are eyeing an entry in the Limca Book of Records for the longest non-stop drive. Auto website driveindia.com is sponsoring them. And webcasting the drive live. "You'll feel like you're at the wheel when you log on," says driveindia spokesman Sachin Patil. The trio's next project: a rally along India's coastline. Another project, another record.
