Go Delhi: Restaurant Imperial Garden, the new Chinese restaurant in Delhi, is owned by former model Queenie Singh, her husband Raja Dodi and Baba Ling who runs Ling's Pavilion in Mumbai. Located in the city's upmarket Greater Kailash II area, and spread over three levels, this 190-plus cover eatery boasts of the authentic stuff: food with a Cantonese touch that's a far cry from the Indianised version that most places in the city serve up. Naam (Thai for "by the water") has just opened at The Oberoi.
The menu covers popular, classical Thai delicacies like Tom Kha Kai
(coconut-based soup with chicken), Pad Thai (fried rice noodles with
prawns), Kaeng Mussaman (a beef curry), Kai Hor Bai Toey (marinated
chicken wrapped in pandan leaves and deep fried), and Kaeng Ped (roast
duck turkey). It is said of Thai cuisine that if you get your Tom Yum
Koong right, you've got it all right. With this spicy, coconut-based soup
with prawns, Rim Naam passes the test. Most of the ingredients are
imported from Thailand. The restaurant is on a terrace surrounded by
