 Title Tattle & Other Stories
Now this is really stretching it. After the success of Biwi No.
1, the David Dhawan-directed comedy that Tabu starred
in last year, the lady's been cast in a film called Biwi No. 2.
Nothing new. Akshay Kumar is on to his seventh "khiladi"
film after Khiladi, International Khiladi, Mr and Mrs
Khiladi and others. "If with this name, the producer can sell
his film for more, then why not," says Kumar. "If I get more moneys
for it, I could do infinite Khiladi films." Next you'll hear
of Tabu in Biwi No. Infinity. Some polygamist, this.
Prized
Premier
If Atal Bihari Vajpayee can't go to the
awards, the awards must go to him. Since the PM could not make it to the
Screen-Videocon Awards in Mumbai to accept the award for Best Non-Film
Lyrics (for the album Nayi Disha), Ananya Goenka of the
Indian Express Group and Videocon's R.N. Dhoot landed
up in Delhi to give him his trophy. Any comments from the other winners?
Play
Along
When a former child star and a former Miss India team
up, what do you get? Ask them. Ask What Father Says, directed by TV actor
Tanaaz Currim and running on the Mumbai stage now, stars
Daisy Irani and Nafisa Joseph, among
others. The play is about a woman (Irani) who walks out on her husband
on their 37th wedding anniversary. Says a grey-haired Irani, once the
cutest kid on the Indian screen: "I have never had so much fun in
such a long time." Yes, that's what she says.
Together
Again
It's happened at last. Despite Kajol's
seeming reluctance to act in films other than hubby Ajay Devgan's home
productions, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH) director Karan Johar has
got her opposite Shah Rukh Khan in his next film Kabhi Khushi Kabhi
Ghum. "She's doing it because Karan and she are childhood
friends," says an insider at Johar's office. Earlier Kajol-Shah Rukh
starrers Baazigar, Karan Arjun, DDLJ and KKHH have
been box-office smash hits, so of course everyone's watching to see if
yeh film hit hota hai.
