Go Metro : Film Festival

No ordinary retro this. Merchant Ivory Productions celebrates 40 years of an amazing partnership with a festival of some of its landmark films as well as a premiere of its latest offering, Cotton Mary. Spanning several decades, the week-long fest of this Oscar-winning team features The Householder, Shakespeare Wallah, Howard's End, The Proprietor, Jefferson in Paris, A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries and Heat and Dust from February 18-24 at the Sterling Theatre in Mumbai and at PVR Anupam in Delhi, before travelling to Bangalore. Cotton Mary, which has been directed by Ismail Merchant and stars Greta Scacchi, Madhur Jaffrey, James Wilby and Neena Gupta will be premiered -- with some of the cast present -- in Mumbai on February 22 and in Delhi on February 24.

Go Delhi: Art

It's a family affair. In a charming  exhibition, titled The Burmans, Paris-based  painter Sakti Burman shows his works along with wife Maite and daughter Maya at Art Today gallery.  The family resemblance is unmistakable, particularly between the  father and daughter: both quaintly ethereal, with a fairytale aura about them. Fantasy is more on leash in Maite's watercolours. On till February 28. Telephone: (011) 332-0689.
