The
Gods Must be Happy
It's like walking with God. On a visit to India, London-based business
couple Louise and Tiziano
Mazzilli were so taken by paintings of Hindu
deities that they launched a line of jeans with divine images on them. Now
come controversial ads starring the family, one of which has a half-naked
Louise with son Rocky. "We're not here to prostitute a
religion," says Rocky. "The gods are so beautiful, we put them
on the clothes." With 500 pairs sold at -895 (Rs 62,650) each, the
gods must be happy.
This Wife's Life
Another turning point for her. Doc-turned-model Aditi
Govitrikar is
turning to films with Soch, in which she plays a suspicious wife. No
reflection on her own marriage. "I'm very comfortable in front of the
camera," she says, "but the acting leap still wouldn't have been
possible without my hubby's support." Supporting star, huh?
On Her Own Trip
She's got it all worked out. Neha Dubey,
19, theatre and TV actor-director Lilette Dubey's daughter, marks her
professional
stage debut with mom's Siren City. Quite the little siren herself, Neha,
who's done a spot of modelling, enjoyed the rehearsals-to-shows trek.
"I plan to take many more such journeys," she says. With a PhD
and lots of plays on her agenda, it sounds like a hell of a trip.
Govinda unlimited
Is there a limit to how much of Govinda
we can take? Not on your
life, says Manoj Agarwal. So in his film Hadh Kar Di Aapne (You Are the
Limit), Agarwal has the king of comedy sporting 11 get-ups. Pop, mom, sis,
grandmom, Chinese, Arab, Maharashtrian, Sardar -- he's played them all.
"It's not too much but too good," gushes the director. Adds the
star: "If the script permits, I would love not 11 but 50 get-ups. But
it is tough to play women characters. I wonder how ladies carry themselves
perfectly with all sorts of accessories, make-up and so many
clothes." Why wonder? Now you know.
