ma'ams became the models and grey hair and wrinkles mingled with svelte
bodies and belly buttons at the US Consulate grounds in Mumbai last week.
No, not an aerobics class but the launch of almari.com, the fashion portal
of Aditya Kilachand and Sachin Shah featuring India's top designers. At
the show, celebrity spouses and spirited socialites like Hema Deora, Aarti
Surendranath, Ramona Garware and Shobha De's daughter Avantika Kilachand
took to the runway ... with the male and female models in tow. And while
the celebs carried off the clothes with unparalleled elan, the
professional models were literally swept off their feet -- a couple of
them falling on stage. But what really got the crowd roaring was a near
"full monty" organised later by the sponsors, Provouge Shirts.
All agreed that dressing up could never be as much fun as dressing down.
