Birth of a saleswoman Is
this another excuse to go
traipsing off to the US? Madhuri Dixit laughed off the cynics on a trip to
Calcutta last week as brand ambassador for Emami. "I've been exposed
to so many different kinds of cosmetics, I could definitely tell which
ones are good," says the lady who's promoting a range that will bear
her name. Not mere brand endorsement this. Ms Dixit will be involved with
the stuff from the lab stage, she'll even mix 'n' match ingredients to
come up with a winning formula. Of course, being brand ambassador will
take her overseas to her man more often. Snipers even say it's all part of
some grand post-retirement plan. But the superstar-saleswoman nixes the
idea. "I don't ever plan to retire. In fact, I think this is a second
employment." Meanwhile, it was work as usual in Bangalore a few days
earlier when she swung that famous hip during a show for Zee TV. She
gyrated to a collage of her popular numbers on stage, thrilling the
7,000-strong crowd. We all know she's got what it takes for that. But as
saleswoman? Well, let's see.
