Go
have fun
Go-karting
seems to be the latest Yankee fad to pick up speed in India. The first
baazee.com National Go-Karting Challenge on Runway 9 in Hyderabad got 145
entries from eight cities. Chennai's racing prodigy Parthiv Sureshwaren,
who had earlier finished second in the Formula Asian 2000 in Kuala Lumpur,
grabbed the top honours after driving his 160 cc Honda-powered machine
with ease on the 10-lap course. And with some 21 go-karting tracks around
the country, it shouldn't take long before India produces more motor
enthusiasts. "This is ideal sport for youngsters considering Formula
One racing is expensive," explains Kiran Mody, director, Runway 9.
And apparently, much less fun.
