Question of money

Model Manpreet Brar, host of gameshow Jackpot Jeeto shot in Calcutta, is absolutely right when she says: "It's not supposed to be Mastermind." Get any inane teaser (e.g. what do Shah Rukh, Imran, Nusrat Fateh Ali and Amjad Ali have in common? Answer: their last name Khan) right, and you could win nothing less than a lakh of rupees. The high-tech quiz (with nine LCD screens and revolving cubes that carry clues) -- which hits prime time Zee Television later this week -- will certainly lure all quick bucksters to try their luck. But where does the Rs 1 lakh per episode for the show come from? "That's part of the programme budget," says producer Derek O'Brien evasively. Only the quizmaster gets to ask the tricky ones here.
