Mime Games It was a show inspired by the rustic women of Haryana who, when jaded by routine, flock around in circles to sing and mime. And at the J.N. Tata Auditorium, Bangalore, dancers from Space, Time, Energy, Movement (stem) group, presented the dramatic Khoriya, an eclectic dance form that also explored issues relating to women's rights. "Even for this, women came together and sat around to share their experiences," says Madhu Natraj Heri, the director of the show whose hubby, Amit Heri the jazz guitarist, composed the music. And with the proceeds from the show going to a women's rights group, the Khoriya-graphy was certainly for a good cause. -Stephen David |
