Dear Sir.. Who's the most chilled-out billionaire in the world? "Sir Richard Branson, obviously," concluded a majority of the guests who attended the bash held in Delhi to mark the launch of Virgin Atlantic. And the billionaire, sportingly wearing an achkan designed by Richa Goel of Stic Travels, was in a particularly cheery mood, waving "Hi guys" to the crowd. However, bearing in mind his unconventional predilection (like flying around the world in a balloon), most guests were a trifle disappointed that Branson didn't try anything outlandish. "I was expecting a tamasha," grumbled Kanti Poddar of Orient Travels and Tours. But venue was something of an eyecatcher with blue runway lights decorating the road leading to an air-plane shaped pandal. The entertainment was mish-mash (Scottish tap dancing alternated with Sukhbir) but the real surprise of the evening was absence of the page three regulars. So who came? A lot of the tourism biggies including Kapil Kaul of Sahara Airlines and Peter Fulton of Hyatt Regency. Want to ensure customer loyalty? Entertainment the Branson way works best. -Leher Kala |
