Delhi: Film Festival
To honour
National Award-winning filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta, the capital's India
Habitat Centre is hosting A Retrospective of the critically acclaimed
director's films. Being screened from August 17-29 are Bagh Bahadur (literally,
The Tiger Man), Lal Darja (Red Door), Grihayuddha (Crossroads), Charachar
(The Shelter of the Wings) and Tahader Katha (Their Story) For information

Vishnu Digambar Jayanti Sangeet Samaroh is jointly organised by the Gandharva
Mahavidyalaya and Saraswati Samaj. Features an impressive line-up of young

Virtual reality
Southern
India just got its first Ride Simulation Theatre (RST). Strapped to their
seats on an 18-seater platform, "viewers" can go through virtual
rides on a roller-coaster, a high-speed jet, pyramid explorations, river
rides, car racing and space sojourns. Charges: Rs 50 per head for a six-minute
ride. Says J.C.D. Prabhakaran, one of the directors of Joe Jolly Thrillers
Pvt Ltd, the Chennai-based entertainment company behind RST: "It's
the first time you'll find an amusement theatre of this scale and magnitude
