LOOKING GLASS

DELHI
HOTEL
The recently opened Grand Hyatt in the suburbs pretty much out does its flashy centre-of-the-city cousin-massive marble pillars, 10 acres of landscaped gardens, futuristic furniture, concealed lighting and extra-tall windows. It also has some interesting works of contemporary Indian artists, sculptors and photographers. And sure enough there's a price to the opulence: the 390 rooms-with-a-view start at Rs 6,525 per night, about 10 per cent more than other Delhi hotels. "We are targeting the premium business traveller," says Pablo E. Graf, general manager. The buffet at The Grand Cafe offers western and Asian Cuisine and a variety of impressive desserts. A meal for two averages Rs 1,500, plus taxes. Seven more restaurants are in the pipeline, including one serving Japanese cuisine and a whiskey bar that promises to stock more than 70 varieties of single malts. Call (011) 612-1234.

BANGALORE
CLOTHES STORE
Motifs, a store for moms-to-be opened last week in Bangalore, stocking waist-30 upwards clothes for women. Most of their trousers are conveniently fitted with adjustable waists and maternity clothes have especially designed pouches which allow the stomach to grow. "I want to cater to all the big people out there," says owner Anitha Mithra, who realised the need for big clothes after she became pregnant. Prices: Between Rs 195 and Rs 3,000. Call (0) 98450-16424.
