Sinfully
gooey chocolates, fat-free ice-creams, pani-puri and lots of bonhomie:
there was plenty of all this at the first anniversary bash of Crossroads
mall and the shop-within-the-mall Good Food Gallerie in Mumbai last week.
Good Food serves both ingredients and ready-to-eat food. At the party,
the city's celebrities were invited to sample the Gallerie's products.
Enough to draw this comment from former movie star Poonam Dhillon who
was there: "Earlier we'd carry back Thai sauces and Italian pastas
every time we went abroad, now everything is available here." As
people rushed to try her caramel truffle torte, Gallerie owner Rashmi
Uday Singh added: "Interaction is very important for me where food
is concerned. I like the fact that people can come and give their response
to the product immediately." When the responses are good, it's even
better.

Q&A:
ABHISHEK BACHCHAN
 |
| Rai
and Bachchan with co-star Amrish Puri |
Unfazed by
two flops on debut, Abhishek Bachchan took on Correspondent Leher
Kala at the premiere party for his latest release, Dhai
Akshar Prem Ke (DAPK), in Delhi last week:
Q. Isn't
DAPK a make-or-break film for you?
A.
Films can flop, actors don't. Sure I need a hit, but failures don't mean
the end.
Q. Aren't
you annoyed that the photographers here are chasing Aishwarya Rai and
not you?
A. She's
beautiful. Can you blame them? People have to watch me on screen to appreciate
me.
Q. Who
is the audience coming to watch in DAPK? You or Ash?
A.
Who'd you go to watch? People see a film they think will be good. DAPK
has other wonderful actors like Amrish Puri and Shakti Kapoor.
Q. How does it feel when you're called wooden and expressionless by
the press?
A. If
I have a hit, they'll call me astounding. Who cares?
