Call
it Khan Ban Gaya Lakhpati. With Sonali Bendre, that is. In the
just-recorded Diwali episode of Kaun Banega Crorepatiin which
Bachchan grills Aamir Khan and his Sarfarosh co-star-turns out
Khan has won Rs 50 lakh and Bendre Rs 25 lakh. Rigged? Who cares. They
both plan to donate the money to charity. Says Star TV's Sameer Nair:
"It's star power with a purpose." Like the Miss India contest?

Is
that Mahima Chaudhry or Mumtaz in the picture? It's Mahima recreating
the classic film song Aaj kal tere mere pyar ke charche, in a programme
recorded for telecast on Sony TV. Great get-up. Great bunch with her on
the show too: Ash, Urmila Matondkar, Raveena Tandon ... Says Sony's Rekha
Nigam: "We felt today's stars with yesteryear's tunes is an unbeatable
combination." With stars like this ...

When
Narendra Singh married into the royal family of Jaipur, his "commoner"
status was frowned at. A few years on, he's making waves by gradually
changing The Family's insular image. Last week, he initiated celebrations
for his father-in-law's birthday: annual awards for local achievers, kids'
contests based on a visit to the palace museum and more. "The idea,"
he says, "is to create awareness that museums are no longer dingy
storehouses of art objects." Another idea: he's keen on politics.
Good move, either way.

In
We
haven't got Britney Spears. Well then, we'll settle for Ellie Campbell.
In India to promote her debut pop album Ellie, the 21-year-oldwho's
been described as "Britain's answer to Britney"made all
the usual noises. She is "really very honoured to be in such a fantastic
country". She thinks Indian women are "absolutely beautiful".
But most of all, "I think I was meant to be in India." Ah, that
kismet thing.
