and Ujjain.

Purnima, January 9, to Magh Purnima, February 8, is kalpa vaas,
a period of fasting and meditation.

Makar Sankranti, January 14, signals the end of Paush month and
the beginning of Magh. First shahi snan (regal bath).

Mauni Amavas, January 24: the most scared shahi snan.

Vasant Panchami, January 29, sees the final shahi snan.
-
Shivratri, February 21, marks the end of the 44-day Kumbha.
