Raghunath
Jha's reinstatement as Samata's Bihar unit chief is being seen
as a climbdown by Nitish Kumar.
Q.
How was this dispute resolved?
A.
Nitish Kumar has clarified that George Fernandes left the decision
to him after talks with our group. So Nitish exercised the authority
vested in him to nominate a leader. This has set at rest the family
feud.
Q.
What about the proposal for the merger of the Samata with the JD(U)?
A.
There is no proposal for such a merger.
Q.
After the truce what is the stand of the rebel party leaders and
your supporters in Bihar politics?
A.
There is no infighting among the leaders as such. Now all of
us will work to bring an end to the jungle raj perpetrated by the
Laloo-Rabri regime.
Q.
Don't you think the clash between Samata and Lok Janashakti candidates
in Aasthwan will benefit Laloo's party?
A.
Yes. If we fight each other then it will benefit the Rashtriya
Janata Dal. The Samata Party has a genuine claim on the Aasthwan
seat and the presence of any other candidate from the NDA will not
benefit us.
