Look Who's Walking
They once distributed
whistles to their female audience at a fashion show. Hrithik Roshan has
walked the ramp for them. A post-coke Fardeen Khan is now their brand
ambassador. So how do they top that?

| RAMP ROMP: Corporate honchos did the catwalk
|
Clothing brand Provogue answered that question
when they held a fashion show against the backdrop of the historic Gateway
of India in Mumbai last week-and got corporate honchos to do the catwalk
for them.
The likes of Anil Ambani, may not have made it.
But those who did-Citibank MD Sanjay Nair, Thomas Cook CEO Ashwin Kakkar
and others-made for a spunky presence on the ramp. Preeti Vyas Gianetti,
CEO of Vyas Gianetti Creative, was miffed at the low female CEO presence,
but even that didn't spoil her fun. "I was surprised to get so many
compliments," she said after the show. "Maybe, I do have another
career choice now!" Maybe she does.

Spook Shack
It's
more Ramsay Brothers than Evil Dead. But Kolkatans love it anyway. When
the owners of Nalban Boating and Watersports Complex set up a haunted
house in the middle of a lake, they logged 1,800 visitors on the first
two days.
The
"purani haveli" has three sections: a ballroom where life-size
portraits glow in the dark, a bedroom where a body rises from a bed, and
a graveyard overrun with "ghosts"-all to a soundtrack of shrieks
and dragging chains. The idea for this Rs 7 lakh-project struck proprietor
Bharat Jain when he visited a haunted house in Madrid. Now parks in Punjab
and Guwahati have asked to "borrow" the spook shack. "We
know we've been successful when we see people's reactions," says
gm Ravi Bhatia. Kids routinely come out crying. Last week, a woman fainted.
Could it be the Rs 25 per head entry fee?
