PARIVAR PARAMPARA Parivar Parampara, a rare 4 hour series featuring compositions and ragas created by Pt. C.R. Vyas, on the occasion of his 75th birth anniversary. Music Today acknowledges and pays tribute to the role of family tradition in keeping alive classical Hindustani music. So it was that there came to be specific families of music-makers where a musician handed down as legacy, the skills of his forefathers to sons and other family members in a Parivar Parampara. Father Pt. C.R.Vyas, and sons Satish and Suhas are musicians and performers of outstanding ability and talent. Rendered by Panditji himself, the music acquires greater significance due to the tabla accompaniment provided by the inimitable goliath, Pt.Kishen Maharaj. Featuring ragas Dhankoni Kalyan,Sudharanjani and Shiv Abhogi, all created by the Pandit himself, the album also features compositions in traditional ragas such as Desh, Bhimpalasi and Basanti-Kedar.
